Abbi Fox:
As we reflect on the accomplishments of our employees in 2021, we spoke with Jeremy Weeks, the Manager of our Customer Service Center (CSC). Jeremy is responsible for leading a strong team of professionals who strive to deliver exceptional customer service to our customers in the United States Congress and throughout Federal, State and Local government across the nation. Primarily focused on our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution, Intranet Quorum (IQ), the CSC also provides IT helpdesk and hardware support.
Jeremy was recently selected as one of 30 individuals by the Civil Group Leadership team to join the Civil Emerging Leadership Program, a four-month opportunity designed to empower and connect emerging leaders throughout different areas within the Leidos Civil Group.
The Emerging Leadership Program
At the start of the program, the selected participants were separated into teams before embarking on a three-day workshop agenda where they learned more about the Leidos Civil Group and the innovative projects and technologies in use today. Jeremy shared with us that the most significant workshops were the proposal writing, oral presentation and Leidos win-plan. These workshops were the most impactful because they helped supplement the task each team was given — which was to respond to a request for proposal (RFP) for a particular business challenge. The winning team would be selected based on how well they responded to the proposal. While developing a strong solution for his group’s business challenge, Jeremy’s team interviewed people from various Leidos operations such as Defense, Intelligence, Health etc. to understand their challenges at hand.
Jeremy’s Success and Key Takeaways
Jeremy’s commitment and hard work throughout the program paid off when his group won the business challenge. As the winning team, they had the pleasure of speaking with Leidos CEO, Roger Krone, and potentially work with Business Development to implement their winning solution.
This opportunity enabled Jeremy to meet people from other Leidos programs and learn about the different projects and programs they are working on. Jeremy feels like his resources have doubled and the invaluable insight he has gained from his support network will empower him to take a more creative approach to business challenges he faces in his current role.
“I can email or call any emerging leader I’ve met during the program and ask questions about a solution, gather feedback, lessons learned from using the solution and even hear about key features that made an impact to their organization that I never even thought about.”
When asked to describe the impact this program will have on his future career, Jeremy expressed that the entire experience was amazing, but the two biggest impacts were the exposure and the knowledge he gained. Throughout the program, he was able to communicate with executive leaders throughout Leidos and other emerging leaders who can someday fill those roles. Beyond the exposure, he gained a great deal of skills throughout the workshops that he plans to take with him such as enhanced team building, presentation, public speaking skills, and problem solving.
Jeremy would like to thank Art Ibers, Todd Fitzgerald, Howard Langston, Anne Geisinger, John Goodall, Jackie Van Dao, Brad Gee, Michelle Tisdale, Stephen Mueller and Chun-Yan Shih for supporting him throughout the program.
